Dr. Boynton was in the military for fourteen years, primarily in operations and training, and served two and a half years in Southeast Asia and in other locations throughout the world as a Special Forces (Green Beret) officer.

Dr. Boynton left the military to spend six years in technology-driven organizations (General Instrument, Osborne Computers and Velobind, Inc.) and became a vice-president of a public corporation in California’s Silicon Valley. There, he developed and delivered the first of many comprehensive plans for organizational transition which he implemented successfully and for which he is now actively sought by many clients.

Since 1986, Dr. Boynton has been building Auburn Group into a unique Organization Development consulting and training company, concentrating primarily on scientific and engineering organizations. He is the author of a number of articles and handbooks for managers and leaders in subjects such as pro-active management, critical thinking skills, performance communications skills, personal peak performance, organizational community building and change management,
among others.

Dr. Boynton is notable for his insight, down-to-earth style, common sense and good humor, bringing confidence and skill to individual managers, teams and organizations in many forms, including an unusual set of gently confronting foci on honest self-appraisal. He is unafraid to face very challenging issues along with his clients and has an unusual ability to identify core issues in organizations and move to corrective action in a rapid, caring, and business-like manner. In his own words, “my mission is to help my technical colleagues with the human issues that arise in any organization or team---to build on their strengths, eliminate the barriers, and get on with the business of succeeding.”

Andre Auw, PhD, has a Masters Degree in Theology, A Doctorate in Human Behavior from USIU in San Diego, California, and post-doctoral work at Loyola-Chicago, and Duquesne U. in Pittsburgh, in Counseling. His professional life began as a Catholic priest giving retreats to nuns and priests primarily, as well as functioning as a counselor. Deciding to focus on a career in counseling, he left the priesthood, and joined the staff of Dr. Carl Rogers at WBSI a think-tank in La Jolla, Calif.

Out of this organization came the Center For Studies of the Person, which he co-founded along with Dr. Carl Rogers, and which he served as Director. The Center became famous for innovative programs and projects, as well as management consulting. He has taught at universities in the United States and consulted with organizations in Europe, Japan, and Southeast Asia. His most recent publications are: Gentle Roads to Survival, Aslan Publ., and The Gift of Wounding, Aslan Publ.

He began an innovative approach to counseling and consulting that has been helpful and rewarding. He invited clients to spend two days with him, affording ample time to create a trusting relationship. They started with relaxing exercise for the body, nature walks, the use of visualisation, meditation, the sharing of meals and personal dreams and the enjoyment of humor. Thus, body, mind and spirit were employed to attend to personal concerns and the healing of the whole person. It appears that this in-depth sharing is far more helpful than merely verbal and rational ways of problem solving. For executives and managers, this method enables them to experience personal healing and stress reduction as well as renewed confidence in their ability to function efficiently in their organizations.
